The Assembly Member for Aberconwy and Shadow Spokesperson for Local Government, Janet Finch-Saunders AM has leant her support to the Stand Up to Bullying campaign, being run by the Diana Award charity and supported by the Vodafone Foundation.
Janet said: “Research by the Stand Up to Bullying campaign has found that cyberbullying is becoming an increasingly worrying trend.
“It is of incredible concern that new figures from YouGov have found that 81% of young people polled reported bullying as commonplace in schools, whilst Vodafone’s latest research has found that 68% of young people had been, or knew of someone who had been cyberbullied.
“I would encourage individuals, communities, schools and businesses across Aberconwy to stand up to bullying. You can register your support for this campaign online at www.standuptobullying.co.uk.
“Anyone at any age can be the victim of bullying, but no one should have to suffer this. The more people we engage with this campaign, the stronger we will be to fight this trend and Stand Up to Bullying!”
