On 10 February, 2012, at 2 pm, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association are organising a walk through Llandudno town centre to highlight the difficulties blind and partially sighted people face in getting around independently.
This is one in a series of events across Wales entitled "Walk a Mile in My Shoes", and we are keen to have your support.

Janet Finch Saunders, Assembly Member, has kindly agreed to be "blind folded" for the walk, and to experience using a white cane to navigate through the streets.
Janet will be guided by our professional Mobility Instructors and the event will be fully risk assessed.
We will meet at the Town Hall, where the walk will begin, and where, before we set out, we will explain the purpose of the walk, and the health and safety issues, along with an explanation of the work of Guide Dogs Cymru.
We would be pleased to welcome other participants but due to limited resources could only offer the opportunity of actually doing the walk in blind fold to two or 3 other people. If, however, others wished to observe, we would be delighted to meet you.
We will be accompanied on the walk by local visually impaired people so that you can learn first hand about the difficulties they experience in getting around independently, and we expect that the event will finish no later than 4 pm.
