After hosting visitors from the University of Montana at the Senedd, Janet Finch-Saunders is encouraging more young people from Aberconwy and across Wales to take an interest in politics and visit Cardiff Bay.
Janet said:
“It was fantastic welcoming students from the USA to the Senedd, and fun being put in the hot seat and asked a number of questions about Welsh politics.
“We discussed the Welsh Assembly’s unique electoral system: a mix of ‘First past the post’, through which I was elected, and a form of proportional representation known as the 'Additional Member System’.
“Since being re-elected, I have, for example, visited Ysgol John Bright, Ysgol Bodafon, and Ysgol Morfa Rhianedd. Alongside visiting even more, I would like to offer an open invitation to you all, especially pupils, to come down for a tour of the Welsh Assembly”.
