Assembly Member for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has welcomed the positive outcomes for the local area as a result of a scheme run between North Wales Police, Llandudno FC Junior section and businesses in Aberconwy.
Welcoming the outcomes, the Assembly Member said: “I truly believe that when young people have a sense of pride in their community, they will be less likely to act in a way that is detrimental to it. The Scheme has given young people the chance to volunteer throughout their community and give something back.
“The ‘Junior Good Citizen Scheme’ has instilled in many of our youngsters a sense of civic pride, and a greater understanding of the impact of antisocial behaviour on local businesses and residents. The results speak for themselves with falls in antisocial behaviour in notorious ‘hotspots’ in Llandudno.
“Llandudno FC are currently seeking to obtain funding for the purchase of a minibus which will allow the scheme to undertake work further afield in Aberconwy. I hope that by raising awareness of this wonderful scheme I will be able to help them obtain the necessary funding.”
