Aberconwy Assembly Member, Janet Finch-Saunders, has been elected as the Chairman of the Welsh Conservative Group in the Assembly at the Annual General Meeting.
In supporting Janet for this role, Members paid tribute to her commitment as Deputy Chairman to the Group over the past 5 years.
David Melding AM, as the former Chair, also thanked the Assembly Member for her support over the past 12 months.
The Assembly Group Leader, Andrew RT Davies AM, said he had “every confidence” that Janet would be a safe pair of hands given the importance of this role, and acknowledged the “wealth of experience that [she] will be able to draw on in ‘stewarding’ us through our work as the ‘official’ opposition” in the National Assembly for Wales.
Janet said: “I am delighted to have been elected Chairman of the Group, and I look forward to working with my colleagues who are such a dynamic, strong and enthusiastic team to continue holding the Welsh Labour Government to account for their many failings.”
