Following the decision by Planning Inspectorate Wales that there is a public right of way at the railway crossing at Warren Drive/Glan y Mor Road, Deganwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, Assembly Member for Aberconwy, has spoken of her delight at this excellent outcome for the community.
Janet said:
“I have been delighted to work with the local community and fellow elected members to argue in favour of the reopening the crossing.
“This case is a fantastic example of democracy in action. Indeed, we can all be proud of the cross-party cooperation that has been exercised and the marvellous result it has achieve.
“During the inquiry I spoke in support of the statement of case made by the order applicants, and scrutinised a number of the objections put forward by Network Rail.
“I concluded that there is evidence to prove that there had been a public right of way at the crossing since before the railway was built, so am thrilled that the Inspector agreed that the evidence points towards this”.
