Cllr Janet Finch-Saunders joined children, parents and youth leaders last weekend for a BBQ to celebrate the "Outdoor Festival" at Plas y Brenin, Capel Curig.
Janet said "I am delighted to be able to lend my support to such a valuable project in Aberconwy. With 11 different activities on offer, including kayaking, canoeing, bouldering, skiing, mountain biking and orienteering, this is a great chance for kids to try something new and for youth leaders to learn new skills and get some fun ideas.
From its beginnings in 2005, "The Outdoor Partnership" or "Partneriaeth Awyr-Agored" has followed its vision to create and deliver outdoor activity programmes through "clubs", in the local community and schools, and to encourage more people across Wales to take up interesting, fun and healthy outdoor activities. Janet said "I applaud the success of this Partnership is getting children across my constituency excited about getting out in the fresh air and challenging themselves with new activities"
"I am particularly impressed with the local focus of the Outdoor Partnership - working successfully in towns and villages – places that are accessible to families - and bringing communities together creating a sustainable use and understanding of the environment of Wales"
