Reacting to the decision of Conwy County Borough Council Planning Committee today to turn down an application to build 110 houses by Marl Lane, Deganwy, Janet Finch-Saunders AM, said:
“Well done to the Planning Committee and Councillors today for having the guts to stand up against this development on prime agricultural land.
“Welsh Conservatives are opposed to overdevelopment on our greenfield sites, and it is noble that Conservative Councillors, some of whom were only elected in May, have fulfilled their manifesto promises by rejecting this particular application.
“Whilst the developers may choose to go to appeal, Councillors today can be happy that they have represented their residents and the 1,300 objectors to this application.
“Proper representation and scrutiny has won the day, and I know many local residents will be delighted at this decision today.”
