PRESS RELEASE
The Assembly Member for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has impressed on the Welsh Government the importance of providing practical, meaningful support to smaller businesses.
The AM said: “Micro-businesses employing less than 15 make up almost 95% of all businesses in Wales. This sector makes a massive contribution to Aberconwy, and I have urged the Minister to provide them with the support they need.
“Too many start-up fall at the first hurdle. The Welsh Conservatives’ ‘Invest Wales policy would offer local: signposting; support and; financing, which could make all the difference.”
The AM also called for greater accessibility to discretionary rate relief from Local Authorities, saying: “Not many are aware that this is administered locally, and I have urged the Minister to raise greater awareness of this.
“Micro-businesses will be intrinsic in Wales getting out of recession, but they need the right support and guidance. I am immensely proud of the entrepreneurs in my constituency, and want to see them develop, grow and succeed.
