Commenting on the decision to delay local elections on Anglesey to 2013, Janet Finch-Saunders AM, Shadow Minister for Local Government, said:
"It is disappointing that the Welsh Labour Minister, aided and abetted by Plaid Cymru, has decided to bypass the democratic process and deny the people of Anglesey a say in how their local services are delivered.
"Welsh Conservatives were prepared to work constructively with other parties in the interests of restoring Anglesey’s democracy. We regret the nationalists’ decision to back Labour to force through this anti-democratic measure.
"It is time for the people of Anglesey to draw a line under the recent turbulence in Anglesey Council and retake ownership of their local democracy by holding fresh elections."
Wrth ymateb i’r penderfyniad i oedi etholiadau lleol ar Ynys Môn tan 2013, dywedodd Janet Finch-Saunders AC, Gweinidog yr Wrthblaid dros Lywodraeth Leol:
"Mae hi’n siomedig bod Gweinidog y Blaid Lafur, wedi’u gynorthwyo gan Blaid Cymru, wedi penderfynu o osgoi’r proses democrataidd a gwadu pobl Ynys Môn ei dweud ar sut y mae eu gwasanaethau lleol yn cael eu darparu.
"Mae’r Ceidwadwyr Cymreig yn barod i weithio’n adeiladol ‘efo pleidiau arall er mwyn adfer democratiaeth yn Ynys Môn. ‘Rydym yn flin i glywed penderfyniad y cenedlaetholwyr i gefnogi’r Blaid Lafur er mwyn gwthio’r mesur gwrth-democratiaeth yma trwyddo.
"Mae’n hen bryd i bobl Ynys Môn thoi’r adegau anodd diweddar yma tu ôl iddynt er mwyn ail-gymryd perchnogaeth o’u democratiaeth trwy dal etholiadau lleol newydd sbon."
