Labour must clarify role of public services staff commission

Commenting on the Labour government’s launch of a consultation on a ‘Public Services Staff Commission’, Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Local Government Janet Finch-Saunders AM, said:

“Efficient and accessible public services are absolutely paramount and we cautiously welcome the launch of this consultation.

“More detail is needed on the role of this commission and guarantees on political neutrality are required. The process must be transparent and assurances provided that all public bodies will be involved.

“Welsh Conservatives have long campaigned against eye-watering senior council salaries and it is extremely important that this commission puts those to bed – for good.”
