Press Release: Local AM raises concerns on reductions to bus service

Thursday, 26 June, 2014

Aberconwy Assembly Member Janet Finch-Saunders has raised her concerns over the reduction to the No. 19 bus service in the Senedd yesterday.

In questions to the Minister for Economy, Science and Transport, she highlighted her worry that residents in rural communities in the West of the Conwy valley could be left increasingly isolated as a result of the reduction of the hourly No. 19 Service to every two hours.

The No. 19 bus serves the Llanwrst Medical Practice, Llandudno Hospital and links to the 5/5X service to Ysbyty Gwynedd.

The Assembly Member said “Buses provide a lifeline for many and provide a real public service”.

“I call on the Welsh Government to work with Conwy County Borough Council and Arriva Buses to ensure that residents in the West side of the Conwy Valley are able to easily access all services”.
