Janet Finch-Saunders MS is today reminding residents in Aberconwy to remain hydrated and to stay in the shade when possible as weather warnings for intense heat are placed across the country.
Commenting recently, Janet said.
“A heat-health alert has been issued for parts of the UK as temperatures are predicted to hit 30C (86F), higher than in Los Angeles, Marbella and Santorini. It crucial that people remain hydrated by carrying a bottle of water with them and staying in the shade when possible.
I want everyone to enjoy the hot weather, but also to check in on their vulnerable family, friends, and neighbours.”
Commenting further, Janet said.
“This period of time should also serve as a first-hand example of the impacts of climate change. The world has already warmed by about 1.1C since the industrial era began in the latter half of the 18th century, and temperatures will keep rising unless we act on lowering carbon emissions and boosting marine and woodland conservation.
I hope everyone enjoys the wonderful weather we’re having and remains safe while doing so.”
