The Welsh Labour Government is not doing enough to support small businesses and entrepreneurs, Janet Finch-Saunders AM said today.
Speaking on the recent draft budget released by the Welsh Government, Janet said: “The Labour party has said that this budget is one for ‘growth and jobs’, yet business rate relief is not mentioned.
“Revenue funding for business and enterprise is set to decline by 8.1% in real terms over the next three years, and capital spending by 22.4%.
“In light of these cuts, we need to see real steps being taken by the Welsh Government to protect and support entrepreneurs who are starting up new businesses. We also need to see the Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science develop a comprehensive programme to deliver business rate relief to SMEs.”
