Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has spoken of the need for tourism businesses to be provided with a roadmap to recovery.
The comments come following calls from the tourism sector and ahead of her series of virtual forums through which she will undertake discussions with local (Aberconwy) businesses:
Commenting on the importance of providing essential support and clarity to tourism, Janet said:
“Tourism businesses need a roadmap to recovery, and should be central to the development of Welsh Government plans.
“From holiday parks to hotels, the whole sector have a right to know how to plan.
“They need time to arrange staff recruitment and training, purchasing of stock, and some certainty as to a date from which bookings can be taken.
“Whilst Coronavirus makes the climate extremely uncertain and challenging for any government, the Welsh Government should create a roadmap so at least the sector here in Aberconwy have some framework to be working with. At present they are in limbo”.
