Last week, Cllr Janet Finch-Saunders AM attended a WRVS volunteer reception in the Senedd and met volunteers from North Wales.
Janet said: “So many volunteers hold our communities together and their work must not be underestimated or undervalued.
“A great deal of care work is done by volunteers, as well as heritage and culture promotion. Volunteers do so much for the image of our country.
“Volunteering allows people to build their skills, widen their social circle and become more involved in their community.
“The concept of the Big Society recognises the importance of volunteers and the huge role they play in society. We should be immensely proud of volunteers and the contribution they make to Wales.”
