Cllr Janet Finch-Saunders AM, Shadow Minister for Local Government, called on the First Minister yesterday to provide a timeline for the proposed Local Government Democracy and Elections (Wales) Bill.
Janet said: “We are fast approaching the first anniversary of the referendum on law-making powers for the National Assembly for Wales and we have seen little to suggest that the Welsh Government are making the most of their new powers.
“With Local Government elections closing in on us, I believe it would be useful for candidates to have more of an idea of the contents of this Bill whilst they are preparing to stand for election.”
Galwodd Cyng. Janet Finch-Saunders AC, Gweinidog yr Wrthblaid dros Lywodraeth Leol, ar y Prif Weinidog i ddarparu llinell amser ar gyfer y Bil Is-ddeddfau Llywodraeth Leol (Cymru) arfaethedig ddoe. Dywedodd Janet:
“Rydym yn prysur nesáu at ben-blwydd cyntaf y refferendwm ar bwerau deddfu i'r Cynulliad Cenedlaethol a does dim llawer o dystiolaeth i awgrymu bod Llywodraeth Cymru yn gwneud y gorau o'u pwerau newydd.
“Gydag etholiadau Llywodraeth Leol ar y gorwel, yr wyf yn credu y byddai'n ddefnyddiol i ymgeiswyr gael mwy o syniad o gynnwys y Mesur hwn tra maent yn paratoi i sefyll am etholiad."
