Cllr Janet Finch-Saunders AM is this week joining calls from The British Lung Foundation to raise awareness of Chronis Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
Janet said: “Wednesday is World COPD Day and it is crucial that we raise awareness of this silent killer. We cannot allow yet another World COPD Day to pass without asking the Government and Health Boards to do more.
“That is why I’m calling for this disease to be included in the annual health check, particularly for those with a history of lung disease or smoking; for smoking cessation advice to be offered at every stage of care for patients who smoke and for increased provision for pulmonary rehabilitation.
“This includes making advice on exercise and self-management, more widely available.”
