The Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy – Janet Finch-Saunders MS – has spoken of her delight after attending the rededication of St Grwst Church, Llanrwst.
The service which took place on 22 May 2022 saw the congregation welcomed by Rev Sarah Hildreth-Osborn and the Rt Rev'd Gregory Cameron, Bishop of St Asaph. He blessed the new altar and lead a special service which saw all re-dedicate themselves to God’s service and join in the celebration of the magnificent transformation of the church.
Speaking after attending the service, Janet said:
“What has been achieved at St Grwst is remarkable. All who have been involved in bringing the church into the twenty-first century whilst so carefully preserving the historical character should be proud.
“The blend of old and new, past and present, really does well equip St Grwst to continue as a pillar in our community for centuries to come.
“Bishop Gregory reminded us all of the importance of kindness and giving charity to others. I would like to thank the team behind the restoration for the service they have provided to Llanrwst, Aberconwy, and Wales, and for ensuring that St Grwst continues to go forward as a place where all are welcome”.
