Following a recent road traffic incident along the A470 between Maenan and Tal-y-Cafn, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy – Janet Finch-Saunders MS - has encouraged residents of the Conwy Valley to make their concerns heard by completing her survey.
Mrs Finch-Saunders previously secured a commitment from the Welsh Government that there would be a review of the A470 from Glan Conwy to Betws-y-Coed in the next financial year. To assist in this review, Janet has been encouraging residents to help identify locations of serious concern.
Residents can submit their concerns by heading to www.janetfinchsaunders.org.uk/A470.
Commenting on the news of a further road traffic incident on the A470, Janet said:
“Having written to the Deputy Minister to raise my serious concerns regarding a section of trunk road passing through Maenan, I am deeply concerned to hear reports of a further road traffic incident.
“Therefore, and with the new financial year fast approaching, I am committed to ensuring that all residents have the opportunity to identify areas of concern along this vital public highway.
“I would encourage my constituents to complete my online survey so that suggested improvements around those most pressing locations of concern are highlighted to the Welsh Government.
“Local residents can be assured that, with the survey responses obtained, I will continue to hold the Welsh Government to their promise of a 2022/2023 review so that locals and visitors alike are kept safe while using this important trunk road.”
