The Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has expressed her shock at recent reports that significant damage has been done to the rear of Ysgol Tudno over the weekend. Janet has been made aware that numerous windows have been smashed as well as significant damage being done to the school’s outside learning environment.
Commenting on the news Janet said:
“This senseless act of vandalism and destruction is truly shocking and is not an accurate representation of the young people of Llandudno or Aberconwy.
"Ysgol Tudno has served our community for generations, providing outstanding education to hundreds of children and young people every year. The school and its building are an iconic part of our town’s history. As such, it is truly disgraceful to see this important local building being targeted in this way.
"I am committed to working with the school and relevant authorities to ensure that appropriate safeguards are put in place to protect the facility from future damage. All our children have the right to receive their education in a safe and secure school free from such mindless acts of vandalism.”

Yr Aelod o'r Senedd dros Aberconwy yn mynegi sioc a siom wedi difrod i Ysgol Tudno
Cafodd Janet Finch-Saunders AC fraw o weld adroddiadau diweddar am y difrod sylweddol a achoswyd i gefn Ysgol Tudno dros y penwythnos. Mae Janet yn deall bod llawer o'r ffenestri wedi torri'n deilchion a chryn ddifrod wedi'i achosi i amgylchedd dysgu awyr agored yr ysgol.
Wrth sôn am y newyddion dywedodd Janet:
“Mae'r weithred hollol ddisynnwyr hwn o fandaliaeth a dinistr yn wirioneddol frawychus ac nid yw'n gynrychiolaeth gywir o bobl ifanc Llandudno ac Aberconwy.
Mae Ysgol Tudno wedi gwasanaethu ein cymuned am genedlaethau, gan ddarparu addysg ragorol i gannoedd o blant a phobl ifanc bob blwyddyn. Mae'r ysgol a'i hadeilad yn rhan eiconig o hanes ein tref ni. O'r herwydd, mae'n warthus gweld yr adeilad lleol pwysig hwn yn cael ei dargedu fel hyn.
Rwy'n ymroi i weithio gyda'r ysgol ac awdurdodau perthnasol i sicrhau bod mesurau diogelu priodol yn cael eu rhoi ar waith i ddiogelu'r cyfleuster rhag difrod yn y dyfodol. Mae gan bob un o'n plant yr hawl i dderbyn eu haddysg mewn ysgol ddiogel yn rhydd o fandaliaeth ddisynnwyr fel hyn.”
