Having undertaken representations on behalf of concerned constituents in relation to the state of disrepair of the Llandudno Memory Clinic, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy – Janet Finch-Saunders – has welcomed plans to undertake improvements to the facility.
In response to her correspondence raising concerns, Ms Jo Whitehead, Chief Executive of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), has outlined that the Health Board do intend to carry out both short and long term improvements to the Memory Clinic in order to bring it up to standard.
Commenting on the news Janet said:
“The Llandudno Memory Clinic provides a vital service to hundreds of patients across Aberconwy and North Wales. Given this, it is totally unacceptable that this important part of our local health care provision has been allowed to fall into such a sorry state of disrepair.
“Having written to BCUHB in order to raise these concerns I am thrilled to see that the Health Board is undertaking work to address this situation, including a phased replacement of the windows by the end of June 2022.
“While I welcome the confirmation of these works, I truly hope that this is just the first stage of efforts to upgrade the medical facilities across Aberconwy to ensure that residents have access to the high quality medical facilities which they need and deserve.”
