Further continuing her pressure on the Welsh Government to answer for their incompetency in handling the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Janet has today requested a statement from the Minister for Health and Social Services.
Speaking in the Senedd today, Janet said.
“I have undertaken numerous virtual meetings with the Chief Executive and Deputy chief executive on the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board since being elected in 2011. However, I am still waiting for the recommendations of reviews and discussion here in the Senedd to come to fruition. We should be empowering hospitals like Llandudno, Abergele, and Colwyn Bay, to take on additional responsibilities which could ease strains on Betsi Cadwaladr.”
Further commenting, Janet said:
“There has been too much pressure in the three major hospitals, with the Health Board being unable to develop a model which sees more patients receive treatment and care in hospitals. If anything should descend from this ongoing discussion, it should be that there is an urgent need to de-politicise the future of the board.'
