Janet Finch-Saunders, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy has undertaken a visit to a local zero waste business, Yum Tum Eco.
This enterprise strives to prevent all forms of preventable waste by selling self -serve food refills such as pasta, herbs & spices, and oils to prevent the need for repeat plastic packaging. Yum Tum Eco provides a similar service for non-food-eco products such as household and personal cleaning.
Commenting after the visit Janet said:
“ I was truly delighted to visit a local business that has taken significant steps to prevent waste and limit their environmental impact. Their innovative way of providing products is truly incredible and further highlights the significant amounts of wasted packaging that covers the products that we all use daily.
“Furthermore, it is outstanding to be informed by Ms Paula Wright that all of the food served is free from all 14 major allergens, providing consumers with food intolerances a safe place to shop without having to check every single label.
“As Wales faces pressing environmental challenges, I am delighted to see passionate entrepreneurs such as Paula develop new business models to once again highlight the role that we can all play in lessening our environmental footprint by shopping in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
“I would encourage residents and visitors alike to consider paying a visit to Yum Tum Eco to learn more about their zero-waste model.”

Bu Janet Finch-Saunders, yr Aelod o'r Senedd dros Aberconwy, yn taro heibio i fusnes diwastraff lleol, Yum Tum Eco.
Nod y fenter yw rhoi diwedd ar yr holl wastraff y gellir ei atal drwy werthu bwydydd fel pasta, perlysiau a sbeisys ac olew heb eu pecynnu er mwyn lleihau'r angen am becynnau plastig. Mae Yum Tum Eco yn darparu gwasanaeth tebyg ar gyfer eco-gynhyrchion eraill hefyd fel deunyddiau ymolchi a glanhau'r cartref.
Meddai Janet yn dilyn ei hymweliad:
“Roedd hi'n braf gweld busnes lleol yn cymryd camau sylweddol i atal gwastraff a chyfyngu ar eu heffaith amgylcheddol. Mae eu ffordd arloesol o ddarparu cynhyrchion yn wir yn anhygoel ac yn pwysleisio faint o ddeunyddiau pacio sy'n mynd i safleoedd gwastraff, deunydd pacio ar gyfer cynhyrchion rydyn ni'n eu defnyddio bob dydd.
“Roedd hi'n ddiddorol clywed Ms Paula Wright yn dweud bod yr holl fwyd sydd ar werth yn rhydd o bob un o'r 14 prif alergen, ac felly mae’r siop yn lle diogel i ddefnyddwyr ag anoddefiadau bwyd siopa heb orfod mynd drwy'r holl labeli â chrib fân.
“Wrth i Gymru wynebu heriau amgylcheddol dybryd, rwy'n falch iawn o weld entrepreneuriaid angerddol fel Paula yn datblygu modelau busnes newydd i dynnu sylw unwaith eto at y cyfraniad y gall pob un ohonom ei wneud i leihau ein hôl troed amgylcheddol drwy siopa mewn ffordd fwy cynaliadwy ac ecogyfeillgar.
“Da chi, ewch draw i Yum Yum Eco i ddysgu mwy am eu model diwastraff."
