New bollards have been erected between the roundabout and Churchill Close, Llandudno, following incidents which saw vehicles leave the highway and collide with a garden wall, and into a resident’s kitchen.
Further to the latest incident last August, Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, has liaised with North Wales Housing; Mr Geraint Edwards, Head of Environment, Roads and Facilities, Conwy County Borough Council; and local representatives. The Member has secured the delivery of ten protective bollards.
Commenting on the works, Janet said:
“I am delighted that Conwy County Borough Council has listened to the concerns raised and delivered a solution which should help residents of Churchill Close feel safer in their homes.
“Nobody should have to be subjected to the trauma of a vehicle crashing into their home, so I hope that the bollards provide the defence required to protect residents.
“Residents may also be assured to learn that the design of the roundabout has not been deemed a causation factor of incidents”.
