Having led the effort to ensure that the necessary repair works to Dolgarrog pipe bridge are carried out at the earliest opportunity, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has welcomed the news that Dŵr Cymru / Welsh Water are ready to share their proposals with the public.
A drop in information event is being held at Dolgarrog Community Centre on Friday, April 1st between 2pm and 6pm.
Commenting on the news Janet said:
“The closure of the Dolgarrog bridge last year raised serious concerns across the constituency and left a community cut off from their railway station.
“This is why I was proud to work with residents and stakeholders to ensure that the funds where made available by Dŵr Cymru / Welsh Water and Conwy County Borough Council to ensure that the required works are carried out to reopen this bridge.
“I am thrilled that Dŵr Cymru / Welsh Water intend to invest £1.2 million, and that an additional £735,000 has been secured by Conwy County Borough Council.
“Details of the plans will be shared with residents during a drop in session on April 1st at the Dolgarrog Community Centre between 2pm and 6pm. Additionally, there will be a virtual meeting at 10am for residents unable to attend this session.
“Therefore, I would encourage concerned residents to attend the community event to review Dŵr Cymru / Welsh Water plans for the bridge and to raise any concerns which may persist with the officials present.”
Information and designs for the bridge will be on display and staff from Welsh Water, Conwy Council, Transport for Wales and Network Rail will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Ar ôl arwain yr ymdrech i sicrhau bod gwaith trwsio angenrheidiol i bont bibell Dolgarrog yn cael ei wneud cyn gynted â phosibl, mae Janet Finch-Saunders AS Aberconwy wedi croesawu'r newyddion bod Dŵr Cymru yn barod i rannu eu cynigion gyda'r cyhoedd.
Cynhelir digwyddiad galw heibio yng Nghanolfan Gymunedol Dolgarrog ddydd Gwener 1 Ebrill rhwng 2pm a 6pm.
Wrth sôn am y newyddion, dywedodd Janet:
“Roedd cau pont Dolgarrog y llynedd yn codi pryderon difrifol ar draws yr etholaeth ac wedi gwahanu cymuned o'u gorsaf drenau.
“Dyna pam roeddwn i'n falch o weithio gyda thrigolion a rhanddeiliaid i sicrhau bod arian ar gael gan Dŵr Cymru a Chyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy i sicrhau bod y gwaith angenrheidiol yn cael ei wneud i ailagor y bont hon.
“Rwyf wrth fy modd bod Dŵr Cymru yn bwriadu buddsoddi £1.2 miliwn, a bod Cyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Conwy wedi sicrhau £735,000 ychwanegol.
“Bydd manylion y cynlluniau'n cael eu rhannu gyda thrigolion yn ystod sesiwn galw heibio ar 1 Ebrill yng Nghanolfan Gymunedol Dolgarrog rhwng 2pm a 6pm. Hefyd, cynhelir cyfarfod rhithwir am 10am i'r trigolion sy'n methu â mynychu'r sesiwn hon.
“Felly, byddwn yn annog trigolion sy'n poeni am y mater i fynd i'r digwyddiad cymunedol i adolygu cynlluniau Dŵr Cymru ar gyfer y bont a chodi unrhyw bryderon posib gyda'r swyddogion yno."
Bydd gwybodaeth a chynlluniau ar gyfer y bont yn cael eu harddangos a bydd staff Dŵr Cymru, Cyngor Conwy, Trafnidiaeth Cymru a Network Rail wrth law i ateb unrhyw gwestiynau.
