The historic Llandudno Pavilion site has been purchased by the company who own Llandudno Pier: Tir Prince Leisure Group. In October 2021, the 0.5-acre, Grade II* listed site was put up for auction with an asking price of approximately £2.8 million, which was due to take place later this month.
Commenting on the development, the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy – Janet Finch-Saunders MS – said:
“I congratulate the Tir Prince Leisure Group on their investment.
“This announcement has brought some welcome certainty regarding a development which has caused unquestionable concern of both local and national importance.
“This land has sadly been empty since fire destroyed the old pavilion more than 20 years ago. With the Queen of Welsh Resorts being a firm holiday favourite of many tourists, who often travel due to Llandudno’s Victorian charm, I hope that any forward plans are sympathetic to its local environment.
“In fact, I have every confidence that Mr Adam Williams and his team’s acquisition will help secure the long-term future of Llandudno Pier and Llandudno as the jewel in the crown of North Wales tourism."
