I am both honoured and privileged to convey my first seasonal message to you all since my election last May to the National Assembly of Wales.
As I look back over the past few months with much reflection, on what has been a busy and exciting time for me personally, I am heartened to recall the vast amount of support that was shown to me and my team during my election and the time following, as I have sought to represent and serve you as your Assembly member for Aberconwy. I am also delighted to have been appointed as the Shadow Minister for Local Government.
It is at this time that we should recognise the tremendous work carried out on all our behalves by our team of local authority officers, staff, as well as elected members in public office, all of whom work tirelessly throughout the year, particularly during the difficult times we have all witnessed over these twelve months.
I would also wish to express my most sincere gratitude and thanks to all of the emergency services, particularly our brave and local members of the Coastguard and RNLI as well as to all our medical and hospice staff. I know that their tremendous efforts will continue throughout 2012 and my grateful thanks are with them as they undertake their duties.
Our considerable thanks are also due to the huge core of people who keep our voluntary services operating all year round here in Aberconwy and who may be called out at any time to selflessly care and serve the needs of others in our community.
All that remains for me is to wish all residents of Aberconwy a Happy and Peaceful New Year.
Mae hi efo balchder ac anrhydedd fy mod i’n danfon i chwi fy neges dymhorol cyntaf ers cael fy ethol ym Mis Mai i’r Cynulliad Cenedlaethol Cymru.
Wrth i mi edrych nôl ar y misoedd diwetha’, dros gyfnod sydd wedi bod yn brysur ac yn gyffrous i mi’n bersonol, mae hi’n cynhesu fy nghalon i gofio’r nifer mawr o gefnogaeth a ddangosir i mi a fy nhîm yn ystod yr etholiad ac eisoes, wrth i mi ymdrechu i’ch cynrychioli fel Aelod y Cynulliad dros Aberconwy. ‘Rwyf hefyd wrth fy modd fy mod i wedi fy apwyntio fel Gweinidog yr Wrthblaid dros Lywodraeth Leol.
Mae hi’n amser o’r flwyddyn pan ddylem gydnabod y gwaith aruthrol sy’n cael ei wneud, ar ein rhannau ni i gyd, gan y tîm o swyddogion awdurdod lleol, staff, yn ogystal ag aelodau etholedig; mae pob un ohonynt yn gweithio’n ddiflino yn ystod y flwyddyn, yn enwedig gan ystyried yr adegau anodd yr ydym yn dyst iddo dros y deuddeg mis diwethaf.
Carwn hefyd, mynegi fy niolch i bawb yn y gwasanaethau brys, yn enwedig aelodau dewr Asiantaeth y Môr a Gwylwyr y Glannau a’r RNLI, yn ogystal â staff meddygol a hosbis. ‘Rwyf yn gwerthfawrogi eu hymdrechion enfawr a does gennyf ddim amheuaeth y bydd hyn yn parhau yn ystod 2012. Diolch!
Mae agen diolch sylweddol hefyd, i’r craidd mawr o bobl sy’n cadw ein gwasanaethau gwirfoddol i redeg trwy gydol y flwyddyn yma yn Aberconwy, pobl sy’n parhau i roi’n anhunanol o’i gorau er lles pobl eraill yn ein cymunedau.
Cyfan sydd yn parhau i fod yw i mi ddymuno preswylwyr Aberconwy i gyd: Blwyddyn Newydd Dda a Heddychlon.
